INDEPENDENT OEM CONFIGURATION COMPARISON
OMEGA donut load cell alternative for the installed envelope.
Start with the exact OMEGA part code and its current drawing. A large center opening, supporting annulus and cable exit must all fit the existing flange, stud or test fixture.
Review the original OMEGA configuration ↗Resolve inner clearance and the loaded annulus together.
An opening that clears the shaft can still change the supporting and loading surfaces. Record the actual center bore, OD, height and annular contact dimensions from the original drawing.
For an LC8400 comparison, include the full model / option code and current calibration certificate. The reference model name does not transfer its rating, geometry or calibration method to a DLC sensor.
Keep the sensor, sealing and receiving instrument in one comparison.
Record the original excitation, rated mV/V, input / output resistance, cable length, polarity and any connector adapter. Then specify the real exposure: washdown, dust, immersion depth / duration or temperature cycling.
An optional laser-welded DLC-HD configuration requires its own environmental acceptance scope. It should not be inferred from the original manufacturer's model or from a visually similar ring body.
Review DLC-HD capacity and large-bore directions →Separate calibration points from acquisition bandwidth.
Agree the force span and ascending / descending calibration sequence for the complete sensor / amplifier / readout chain. For dynamic testing, add required sample rate and transient duration; a static certificate does not establish the full system bandwidth.
Approved dimensional and electrical comparisons determine replacement suitability. Original brand names identify the installation under review; no affiliation or endorsement is implied.
OMEGA fit and instrument questions
Can DLC-HD automatically substitute for every OMEGA LC8400 configuration?
No. Treat LC8400 as the original model to compare, then resolve the exact ID, OD, height, loading contact, signal and environmental limits. A DLC family label is not an interchange approval.
What should I include if the OMEGA sensor is already paired with a display?
Include the sensor and display model codes, excitation, input span, connector pinout and calibration record. Changing the sensor can require a new zero / span and system calibration.
